The Opposite Action Of High And Low Potencies


This Post invites homoeopaths to share knowledge and clinical experiences of remedies that showed opposite action of High and Low Potencies.  A few such examples are shared here as starters...

Here the case of digitalis is very interesting and should find great use in clinical situation:

  1. In typical Calcarea Carb children, it would cure diarrhea only in high (200, 1M) potencies but could cure constipation only in 6th potency (Source: Dr.Koppikar’s Clinical Experiences of 70 years in homoeopathy) 
  2. Podophyllum high cured diarrhea and was a fine remedy for constipation with whitish (bileless) stools in 6th potency. (Source: Dr.Koppikar’s Clinical Experiences of 70 years in homoeopathy)
  3. With Iodium 200, 1000, I have added weight to lean and even emaciated boys and girls.  And Iodium 2x, 3x are the best remedies to help reducing obesity – given 3-4 pills 3 times daily.   4. People having weakness, dizziness on sitting up or jaundice etc. of Digitalis have been wonderfully cured by Digitalis high, 30 or 200 when the pulse was slow, and by 3x or 3 or even 6th when the pulse rate was fast. (Source: Dr.Koppikar’s Clinical Experiences of 70 years in homoeopathy)
  5. Hepar Sulph: The higher potencies may abort suppuration, the lower promote it. If it is necessary to hasten it, give 2x. by William Boericke

Aditya Homoeopathic Hospital- World's first homeopathic hospital admitting emergency, acute & life threatening cases

One weekend in October 2012, I was invited by Dr Amarsinha Nikam , M.D. Homoeopath to experience the joy of homoeopathy at his 100 bed Aditya HomoeopathicHospital and Healing Centre , Pimpri, Pune. Homoeopathic Posology through the eyes of Dr. S.P. Koppikar

This post brings out two important segments on the –one potency selection and the other repetition. The summary is based entirely on Dr Koppikar’s book “Clinical Experience of 70 Years in Homoeopathy”. What he says is not mere theorizing but comes as a result of ‘diligent’ experience; an experience of 70 years is definitely taking serious note of… It would have been easier to scan and upload the pages but then it would be unjust to the labour of the author.  The bold markings are my emphasis.  Brackets and italics are my words. 1.      In the chapter ‘How I learnt About Doses’ a.      He talks about Anaphylaxis or Allergic Shock as a result of a single dose (unchanged) repeated on the 10th day.
