Why This Blog on individualized holistic health solutions?

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison

‘Health Maintenance’ cost has become prohibitive and hence the focus is now shifting onto ‘Preventive Health Care’.  Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Homoeopathy… are among the leading medicinal systems whose role in providing preventive health care solution has gained wide-spread acceptance.  New understanding into the science of genetics, nano-technology, molecular science and quantum physics has only helped in understanding and also validating the working of above listed medicinal system.

This blog space is intended to promote these holistic and cost effective health care options and also share finding from emerging sciences that help understand our health better.

Information for reference and education purpose only, should not be used for diagnosing or treating a health problem or disease. Nor should the information replace the advice of your doctor or health care practitioner.

  1. I would restrict myself to Science of Homoeopathy And it is very true that trends are changing and changing for the betterment of Health care purpose.
Homoeopathy is been said to be the second most practiced medical science after the conventional medical practice (published by WHO)
Homoeopathy needs to uplift the awareness programs in the urban & rural set-ups and Govt. needs to read & re-read the quotes given by visionaries of India namely Mahatma Gandhiji, Rabindranath Tagoreji, Swami Vivekanandji and many more and finally think of implementing it at National level.

Fr. Britto Joseph S.J. - Empowering Health Care

Meet my first Guru who reignited my latent passion in nature consonant medicine. Fr. M. Britto Joseph s.j. a Jesuit Priest, belonging to the Madurai Province, is credited with evangelizing and proselytizing Naturopathy and Homoeopathy in India. Affordable and safe health-care has always been a need and it still continues to be a necessity for the majority of the population (middle-class and rural) in India, a country where  major share of one’s earning is spent on housing and food, savings are meager, often liquidated by medical and hospitalization expenses.  Families often end up in huge debt.   A country that enjoys a rich heritage medicine system in the form of Ayurveda and Naturopathy is today a victim of lifestyle diseases that is only burdening the existing inadequate health-care facilities in India.   It is against this background we can come to appreciate the value of Fr. Britto’s mission. Fr. Britto has done a yeoman service through his mis...

Aditya Homoeopathic Hospital- World's first homeopathic hospital admitting emergency, acute & life threatening cases

One weekend in October 2012, I was invited by Dr Amarsinha Nikam , M.D. Homoeopath to experience the joy of homoeopathy at his 100 bed Aditya HomoeopathicHospital and Healing Centre , Pimpri, Pune. By the end of the day, I had to qualify his quote ‘the joy of homoeopathy’ with the word ‘sublime’. This visit led to a close friendship and deeper understanding and learning the great science and art of cure - homoeopathy. What followed was an internship of over 2 years where I had the opportunity to sit alongside Dr Nikam every Saturday-Sunday and takedown detailed case history and witness his approach to prescribing. Like a true guru, he gave it all. At the consultation table, he allowed his interns to suggest their remedy along with the reasons. He would then give us his choice and express this thought process and validate it by referring it to the materia medica. Here is a doctor who dared to start a homoeopathic hospital that not just treats emergencies but ‘Critical Emerg...

Drug Interaction and its side effects - Is your doctor factoring drug interaction while prescribing?

In the US, 3 to 7% of all hospitalizations are due to Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR). ADRs occur during 10 to 20% of hospitalizations; about 10 to 20% of these ADRs are severe. If countries like USA which has a stringent food and drug administration get millions of patients who suffer adverse drug reaction then the scale of adverse drug reaction in a populous country like India, where controls are  lax and reporting tardy. This would be a similar story in other developing and under-developed nations. The most common categories of drugs withdrawn in the last decade ( Developed Countries) were non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (28%), anti-diabetics (14.28%), anti-obesity (14.28%), antihistamines (14.28%), gastroprokinetic drugs (7.14%), breast cancer and infertility drugs (7.14%), irritable bowel syndrome and constipation drugs (7.14%) and antibiotics (7.14%).  And it takes 3-5 years for a drug to be banned in India after it has been banned in other countries. I...
